It's 4:51 am and I'm suppose to get ready to leave for Boracay in 25 minutes. I'm meeting the bosses at one of our branches at 6:30am before heading to the airport to meet two of my uncles. Our flight won't be until 10am but we were told that the airport just might be congested with people leaving the metropolis or going home to their hometowns. I said 6:30am to give leeway to those who might be late.
This week, we've got Globe events. Someone else is handling Gentxt now and this is the first time we'll see him handle the event. A is following me to Bora on Wednesday, while my sister and her friend Clarissa will be arriving on Thursday. A's leaving on Monday, my sister and her friend on Sunday and then, a whole new slew of people are arriving in the island again. My uncle's family is arriving. The bands I'm bringing in are arriving and it's a good thing I'm friends with them so I have people to hang out with. I'm staying in the island for 12 days and I hope that this time, I survive. Last time, my uncle and I decided to call it quits at 10 days. Trust me, it's not fun doing the same thing every day.

Oh, and before I packed my stuff, I took a pic of my bikini collection. I'm down to 14. Sad story about my bikinis. A tragedy to be exact. I lost them because my mom donated it! My plastic bag of bikinis have been gone from my closet for more than a month before I realized they were missing. This is what happened. One day, I was looking for my underwear. Thinking that our laundrywoman placed them again in my mom's cabinet, I went to her room to retrieve them. I was surprised to find one of my bikinis in her drawer so I took them to put them back in my closet. Lo and behold, the plastic bag where I store my bikinis were missing! After endless searching by questioning all our household help and my stepmom and piecing their accounts, I found out that one day, my mom was looking for her bikini. Thinking that it probably got mixed with my swimsuits, our laundrywoman got my plastic bag and handed it to my mom by placing it on our dining table. My mom never noticed the bag. Incidentally, on the same day, my mom and sisters were donating clothes to give away. Somebody probably thought that the bag of bikinis were supposed to be given away and so she mixed it along with the pile of donated clothes! GASP, I know! The horror! The agony! Trust me, I was crying sooo much when I found out what happened! My stepmom thought I really was giving it away (and to this day, I'm disappointed that she never bothered asking me even if she was doubting. Her reason for not asking me being that she never sees me at home) and asked the maids to go through them and choose. However, this is one instance that I'm glad my stepmom is a hoarder and never throws away her things. Seeing that my bikinis were still in good condition, she kept them. Thankfully, only 3 were missing. Two were given to our maid's niece and they were bikinis I hardly wear because it wouldn't match my tanline. Unfortunately, my most favorite bikini and the most expensive one is missing. All of those who went through my swimsuits said they never saw it. The only way to get over this trauma is going swimsuit shopping. I bought 5 bikinis, ranging from P500 to P800 each. I still wanted to buy 3 more but I knew it was too much. Now looking at the picture, I wish I did. Oh well.
Oh, and another good news! My Canon Ixus I is now fixed! Here's another tragic story. My camera broke during my last trip to Boracay. Somehow, water got splashed and hit the lens, causing the screen to be static-y. After a while, the thing that covers the lens got stuck and wouldn't close and the camera died on me. I sent my camera to Canon on January 6 and they told me they'll give me feedback after a week. Well, it was a month already and I never got any response... and calling their hotline is a bitch because you're perpetually on hold! So I decided to email them telling them NICELY my experience with their customer service. They responded quick enough AND with feedback for my camera! They said that the major parts corroded and it would be too expensive to repair. Normally, it would take P20,000 to have it fixed! Are they crazy?!
I was having doubts so I got my camera back and gave it to my grandfather, who is a photographer, to have a look at it. And well, what do you know! He asked his driver/ mechanic/ technician to open my camera and now it works! The thing that covers the lens when the camera is off doesn't work anymore but at least my camera can still take pictures! I knew my instinct was right. I had the feeling Canon was telling me it would take P20,000 to have the camera fixed so I'll buy a new camera. Good thing I didn't buy a new one. In fact, I was planning to buy a new camera last Saturday but when I woke up, my grandfather tells me the camera is fixed already!
Anyway, I've got to go but I wish everyone a great Holy Week and a wonderful time de-stressing. Be safe, everyone!
